Pure Water Knife
Pure water knife is the earliest water cutting method. The first commercial applications began in the mid-1970s for cutting corrugated board. The largest application of pure water water knives is to cut disposable diapers, tissue paper and automotive interior parts. For tissue paper and disposable diapers, the water-knife technique leaves the least amount of moisture on the material compared to other techniques. In some diaper or tissue paper factories, unplanned downtime is very common to other cutting techniques, costing more than $20000 per hour. The water knife provides continuous operation throughout the year for this application-maintenance operations can be incorporated into the production process.
