According to reports, the Xiyu Interchange-Tongjiang Avenue section of National Highway 312 will be closed for construction. Affected by the construction, from February 28, 2021 to December 31, 2022, the traffic of National Highway 312 (Tongjiang Avenue-Xining Road) was interrupted, all vehicles and pedestrians were prohibited, and the Shanghai ramp of Wangjiang Interchange was closed.

This reconstruction and expansion project (rapid reconstruction project of Xishan section of 312 national highway) starts from the west side of Xiyu interchange in the east, carries out reconstruction and expansion along the existing 312 national highway, continuously crosses Xigang road, Zhongyuan road and Tongjiang avenue in the form of elevated road, and ends at the west side of Tongjiang avenue of 312 national highway (the district boundary of Xishan and Huishan districts), connecting Huishan section of 312 national highway.

The total length of the project is 3.24 kilometers, with two pairs of on-off ramps. The main line elevated is in accordance with the 6-lane first-class highway standard, with a design speed of 80 km/h, and the ground is in accordance with the 6-lane urban trunk road standard, with a design speed of 50 km/h.

Tip ①:

Originally via Wuxi interchange, turn to national highway 312 to Shanghai, or via Wuxi east, turn to national highway 312 to Nanjing. these vehicles that have to pass through the closed section of construction should not get off the expressway and continue to pass on the expressway.

If it cannot be reached through Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, such as medium and heavy trucks, it can be diverted through Zhonghui Avenue (S340 Provincial Highway) to the north of 312 National Highway. The specific route is: 312 National Highway-Huiji Avenue-Zhonghui Avenue (S340 Provincial Highway)-Tuanji Road-Xihu Road or Xiyu Road. After avoiding the closed construction area, it can go to 312 National Highway.

 

Tip ②:

After the construction starts, please try not to go to the roads around the closed section, because it is very likely to encounter congestion. There is really no way to detour, vehicles going to the vicinity of the construction section, it is recommended to detour to Xining Road via Huiji Avenue or Fengxiang Road.

In particular, it should be reminded that trucks are not allowed to pass on Guangshi Road. There is a construction fence on the ground at Guangshi Junction on Fengxiang Road. In addition, vehicles should not detour from Xicheng Road and Tongjiang Avenue between 312 National Highway and Xining Road, otherwise they will not be able to return to the main line of 312 National Highway.

It is understood that the traffic pressure on Tongjiang Avenue will increase significantly after the construction, and many private cars will choose to take Tongjiang Avenue when they get on and off the expressway. In response, the traffic police reminded the car not to choose Wuxi interchange when taking the expressway. It is suggested to pass through the entrance and exit of Wuxi North or Wuxi East to avoid Tongjiang Avenue.
